Radio 1's live Lounge is back with their third compilation album and what a corker it is! Boasting everyone from Goldfrapp to Foo Fighters to Rihanna to McFly this album is guaranteed to have something for every accoustic or covers lovers out there.

While the live tracks are undeniably good their likely to appeal more to hardcore fans of the particular bands. It's when an act takes on someone else's music that things really get good.

Kicking of these covers are McFly, turning their hand to katy perry's "I Kissed the Girl". Mixing in Snap's I've Got The Power gives the track a great edge and really allows the duo to put their mark on the former number one. Dizzee Rascal then turns the tables on The Ting Tings given his own treatment to That's Not My Name. For a song that was played so much over the summer, Dizzee's version keeps it fresh and different. Further down the track list is a version that on paper really shouldn't work but somehow, in practice it manages to. Electronic artists Pendulum take on Coldplay's Violet Hill and turn it into something totally different but enjoyable. The electronic effects turn this into something completely different - who'd have thought you'd be able to jump around like a mad man at a rave to a Coldplay song!? Girls Aloud, don't really step out of their comfort zone when they take on Robyn's With Every Heartbeat but they still do the song justice turning the dance track into a beautiful ballad. Another disappointment comes courtesy of Elliot Minor who sing Rule The World. The band could have put their own stamp on the Take That song but it was really nothing special.

Elbow are one of the acts who stand out when performing their own song. They sing a really touching version of their hit One Day Like This.

A great bonus of this album is that you get the chance to hear Ironik's Stay With me without that bloody chipmunk voice. The song has some really touching lyrics and could be a fantastic ballad but the single version is hampered by the chipmunk vocals. When he looses them for the live version it makes the song one hundred times better.

I THINK THIS BLOG IS COMING TO AN END
It's been almost nine months since I started this blog and so far I've had almosy 150,000 hits (not bad, right?!) and I think it's time this blog came to an end. The main reason is that I don't have that much interest anymore in maintaining a music blog as much as I did when I started. I've also been very busy and I don't really have time to update it (like other music bloggers do). And most importantly, I've had a lot of posts removed by the blogger admin. They would keep sending me Blogger DMCA takedown notifications regarding copyright stuff. I'm tired of my posts being removed without any warning and then receiving Blogger DMCA takedown notifications. So I'm asking you now, readers and visitors, should I continue or abandon this blog forever?

"Talons", a new song streaming on Bloc Party's MySpace, is an extra track from the sessions that produced the middling Intimacy. In addition to being given away as a free track to those who downloaded the album, "Talons" will also be released as a single in late October in the UK. It's expected to be on the physical release of Intimacy along with other bonus material, and will also be available with digital downlods of the album from the band's site going forward, beginning at midnight tonight. To my ears-- speaking as someone who doesn't find this band particularly interesting-- it sounds very much of a piece with the rest of the new record, shouty chorus, pumped-up sound, the whole nine.

"Náttúra" is a song written and recorded by Icelandic singer Björk featuring Thom Yorke of Radiohead. The track was released as a single promoting the protection of the Icelandic environment. All proceeds from the single will be donated to the Náttúra Foundation, the environmental preservation campaign after which the song is named.
This is Björk's first solo single to be released entirely in Icelandic.
Not my favourite thing shes done, but I like its chaoticness and her voice is amazing as usual. Thom Yorke's vocals are right where they belong - in the background.

So what's a mashup? What's a bootleg?

It's pretty much all the same. Also known as "bastard pop," a bootleg is a song that's "mashed-up." Usually, this means the vocal track of one song is mixed over the instrumentation of another. Using audio editing software, DJs and mashup artists combine different artists and musical genres to create new and unique songs that are often greater than the sum of their parts. Imagine Michael Jackson rocking out with Nirvana, Britney Spears singing with Daft Punk, Cher fronting AC/DC, or Ludacris rapping with Depeche Mode. Can't imagine that? Eisley is a rock band from Tyler, Texas, consisting of four siblings and their cousin , all of whom were born and live in Texas. Marsh King's Daughter is actually a hidden or a bunos track from their album "Combinations", although this song is just bunos but this is one of the best track off the album. I like this so song so much, its sounds pretty radical. The song makes me warm, its like a hot soup during rainny days.. If you like Regina Spektor or Fiona Apple, then this is a MUST download track.

This song is an electro clash song by Peaches. It is used in the movies My Little Eye, Lost In Translation and Jackass Number Two. That Green Gentleman (Things Have Changed)" is the third single from the second album by Panic at the Disco, Pretty. Odd. It's been two months since Panic At The Disco released their second album, Pretty.Odd., but many listeners still haven't got their heads around the band's transformation. Watching their heroes morph from emo trailblazers to Beatles-obsessed sixties revivalists was just too weird for some fans to take in. contains a swinging chorus, lashings of jaunty guitars and a call-to-arms outro that finds Brendon Urie offering one of his finest vocal performances to date. It may take a while for some people to catch on, but when they do they'll realise that Panic are actually making some of the most thrilling music of 2008.
