MASHUPS

So what's a mashup? What's a bootleg?

It's pretty much all the same. Also known as "bastard pop," a bootleg is a song that's "mashed-up." Usually, this means the vocal track of one song is mixed over the instrumentation of another. Using audio editing software, DJs and mashup artists combine different artists and musical genres to create new and unique songs that are often greater than the sum of their parts. Imagine Michael Jackson rocking out with Nirvana, Britney Spears singing with Daft Punk, Cher fronting AC/DC, or Ludacris rapping with Depeche Mode. Can't imagine that? Daughtry - What About Now
This is seventh and rumored to be the last single from Daughtry's eponymous debut album. The band performed an accoustic version of the song on a Trip to Uganda for the Fund Charity Event Idol Gives Back. I love this song, this is one of my fave from thier album. This song is perfect for a movie soundtrack. The song debuted at #18 on Billboard Hot 100.

Indie Song of the Week
Eisley - Marsh King's Daughter
Eisley is a rock band from Tyler, Texas, consisting of four siblings and their cousin , all of whom were born and live in Texas. Marsh King's Daughter is actually a hidden or a bunos track from their album "Combinations", although this song is just bunos but this is one of the best track off the album. I like this so song so much, its sounds pretty radical. The song makes me warm, its like a hot soup during rainny days.. If you like Regina Spektor or Fiona Apple, then this is a MUST download track.

Danity Kane - Bad Girl
This song will be released as the second single from the band's second studio album, "Welcome to the Dollhouse". The song features a guest verse from Missy Elliot. I'm not a fan of this band, but i think this song is pretty hot, the beat and tempo are banging, thanks to futuristic beat of Danja.

Dance/House/Trance Song of the Week
Peaches - Fuck the Pain Away
This song is an electro clash song by Peaches. It is used in the movies My Little Eye, Lost In Translation and Jackass Number Two. It is considered her breakthrough song, and because of its widespread licensing in films as well as numerous official and unofficial cover versions (including a notable cover by Of Montreal) is held by many of her fans to be responsible for her increasing popularity. It appears on her debut album "The Teaches of Peaches," released in 2000 on Kitty-Yo.

Mint Royale - Singing In The Rain
You'll have seen the ground-breaking advert which recreates the classic dance sequence from Singing In The Rain where Gene Kelly bodypops and breakdances in the street. It sounds kind like a normal day theme to me.
If you know what I mean. It's pretty peaceful sounding. By the way the song is currently at #1 spot at UK Top 40, knocking Rihanna's "Take A Bow" down to the number 2 spot.

FRESH: T-Pain, The Offspring, Panic At The Disco

T-Pain - Silver and Gold
Here is the first single from T-Pains third studio album "Thr33 Ringz" It's no secret that T-Pain likes to 'sing' (for the lack of a better word) about drinks, so it comes as no surprise that this cut is about mixing silver and gold Patron to make a new beverage. It's typical T-Pain fare - so you'll either love it or hate it. Can't say this one does anything for me, still, it'll probably be a hit. Is this what today's industry has been reduced to?

Panic At The Disco - That Green Gentleman
That Green Gentleman (Things Have Changed)" is the third single from the second album by Panic at the Disco, Pretty. Odd. It's been two months since Panic At The Disco released their second album, Pretty.Odd., but many listeners still haven't got their heads around the band's transformation. Watching their heroes morph from emo trailblazers to Beatles-obsessed sixties revivalists was just too weird for some fans to take in. contains a swinging chorus, lashings of jaunty guitars and a call-to-arms outro that finds Brendon Urie offering one of his finest vocal performances to date. It may take a while for some people to catch on, but when they do they'll realise that Panic are actually making some of the most thrilling music of 2008.
